What does CLNC certified mean?

A certified legal nurse consultant (CLNC) goes through a formal training course.  As with most professional certifications, a CLNC can only keep her certification by taking courses for recertification on a bi-annual basis that will keep her knowledgeable about changing laws, new medications and new procedures.  She must be current in her understanding of the different services and medical issues that may affect a case and is tested on a regular basis.

Can you be a testifying expert?

In areas of nursing knowledge where we are experienced, yes we can.  We will not testify in the medical arena unless we have direct experience related to that case.

We will testify on a case if it is related to our area of nursing expertise.  If your case does not involve issues that we are qualified to testify on, we can help locate proper experts for you.

How do I know you’ll find me the best experts?

You, the lawyer, will hire the expert. We find you one or several experts to choose from.   It is up to you to determine which expert to use for trial. We will brief the expert about the case and provide additional support when needed.

Why is a legal nurse consultant a better choice than a paralegal?

When it comes to medical related issues, very few paralegals actually know how to read a chart and what to look for in cases of omission or possible tampering.  Only a medical professional can provide you with an accurate timeline of the events in question in a case and point out what you might be missing.

We educate you, the lawyer, the judge and the jury on the medical issues in the case. We perform effective medical research that helps build your case and help you see the points the other side might try to make.

The bottom line is cost.

Why use a nurse instead of a doctor?

Bottom line is cost.   Not only are we a more cost effective than doctors to hire, but as nurses, we are trained to communicate with the public and to teach the layperson to understand medicalese.  We can understand how the various sub specialties relate to one another and speak to the experts you need.

We will work first two cases for a discounted price because we're so sure you'll use us again and again.
